Co-owners, Craig Norman and Luis Perez Had been friends and worked on projects together for years. At the time, Craig and his then business partners were flipping a lot of houses and were involved in projects for others. Luis was the go-to guy for getting the work done. One particular day, Craig and Luis were riding together when Craig casually mentioned he had just passed the test to obtain his general contractor’s license. What???? Exclaimed Luis. As it turns out, he had been looking for someone to partner with and already had a plan laid out as he had connections with companies framing new homes. In that moment, GMC Construction was born and they hit the ground running. Both Craig and Luis have other family members involved in the business so it is truly a multifamily business.

It was September when they obtained their contractor’s license and by December, they had a Christmas party with more than 60 associates in attendance. They have continued to grow and expand ever since. What sets the GMC owners and crews apart is their diversity of projects and construction methods. They have become the local experts in some advanced and unique methods of construction; SIP, RSG-3D and ICF are the most prominent. Luis has been involved in construction for over 20 years. He can do just about anything and has a vast network of construction personnel. No matter what you need done, he probably has someone that can do it. He is also a perfectionist. He personally checks the work of our crews to insure that the work is being done properly and with quality workmanship. We tell our crews, “build this home like you are building it for your family.”
